Description

A pack of 100 biodegradable "Stewart Superior ECO" top-opening A4 50 micron clear plastic pockets, with multi-punched reinforced spines. Designed to be copysafe, no ink should lift off from the printed papers contained within. The specially-modified polypropylene includes additives to break down once exposed to heat and moisture in landfill, or direct sunlight.

This pro-degradant treatment doesn't prevent the product from lasting a functional office use lifetime, but it does stop it lingering in the environment for hundreds of years. After a period of 8-12 months, the plastic degrades into particles small enough to be digested by natural microbes, such as bacteria and funghi. This process creates no methane, and leaves behind no harmful petro-polymers; just water, CO2 and humus.

Neither do the pockets contain any toxic heavy metals - like lead, mercury, cadmium or chromium - unlike some plastics. The polypropylene itself is made up of naptha, an oil refining by-product that would otherwise be wasted by 'flaring off'. As well as the pockets themselves, their packaging is also fully biodegradable and recyclable, too! Manufactured in the UK.

When storing these pockets, be careful to not leave them in areas of excessive heat or sunlight.
